Hi there, my name is Roanna Stokes and I am the chairperson of our fantiastic Toy Library. I have two young daughters who love exploring new toys from the library. My role in the toy library is pretty broad; running meetings, making decisions, generally helping with fundraising and applying for grants. I love seeing the children in the library enjoying the toys and having so much enthusiasm for play. Personally I am interested in seeing the library become more environmentally conscious and culturally diverse in both memberships and toys.
Hi I''m Rose, most of you know me as I was the librarian for 7 years. I''ve stayed in the committee to bring not only all of my knowledge with grants and the running of the library, but also the best bit... TOY BUYING!!!!! We LOVE the toy library!
Hi, I''m Jess and I am the treasurer on the committee. I have two little mischievous people who love to explore the wonders of the Toy Library! We have loved every moment since we joined, with the only regret being we wish we had sooner.
Tēnā koe, my name is Te Maari and I came on board as a committee member in mid 2020. Our family love the toy library as it means we always have new and interesting toys to play with without cluttering up the house and forking out endless amounts of money on new things. I’m a big fan of wooden toys especially ones that encourage free, open ended or imaginative play. I love being outside and when I’m not working you can often find me in the garden. This year I took the plunge and am committed to learning Te Reo Māori. The Toy Library has a great collection of Māori games and puzzles and I’m looking forward to seeing and helping this grow. If you see me around please feel free to korero Māori with me
Catherine is an ECE Grad Dip qualified teacher who has been making the most of our Toy Library for the last 2 years and often helps out when we need volunteers. She and her husband Chris are raising 2 beautiful children, Esme and George, who are reguarly seen playing around the library. Catherine has a keen interest in music and gardening. We are looking forward to seeing how she puts her own stamp on the Library and to have a new voice on the committee.
